SQL Server Database

The core configuration and storage of monitored data by Zeaware Monitor for Power BI is stored within a SQL Server database. As part of a deployment a customer will be required to provision a SQL Server Database for exclusive use by the Zeaware Monitor for Power BI application.

A single database per environment is required, this can be deployed in Azure using one of the following 2 options:

Type	Description
Azure SQL Database	Zeaware Monitor supports using an Azure SQL database.
Azure SQL Managed Instance Database	Zeaware Monitor also supports using an Azure SQL Manage Instance database.

Authentication with the SQL Database

Zeaware Monitor for Power BI support the option of running the application service in the security context of an Azure Managed Identity. This means no user names and passwords are required to be stored by the application. For more information on configuring SQL Server access and permissions see Deployment Options.
